...for those who do, a myriad of choices exist. A post breakfast 3 mile looped woodland walk is a perfect introduction to outdoor activities in and around the Midlands. This walk can be extended to include Durrow Abbey Monastic Site and view the 6th century Durrow Cross.

Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre, Charleville Castle, Locke's Distillery Museum, Clara Bog and Esker Hills Golf Club are but a ten minute drive. Lough Boora Parklands, Birr Castle, Athlone Castle , Slieve Bloom Mountains and Belvedere House, a 30 min. journey, while Clonmacnoise can be reached in 45 mins.

Kilkenny Castle, ( 60 mins.)

 Rock of Cashel,(90 mins.) Galway & Dublin ( 60 mins) are within easy day trip distance & enjoy  excellent bus & rail travel options.
